The Alexandria tennis team used a 6-1 win over Rocori to get its first win in the Central Lakes Conference last Thursday night.

Ellie Bergstrand, Carly Snell and Bria Schueler all had straight-set wins in the singles lineup for Alexandria. Kim Wilkins played the No. 3 singles spot but defaulted with an injury after having a hard time breathing in the hot and humid conditions.

The Cardinals swept the doubles lineup behind straight-set wins from Marissa Wheeler and Rachel Sjostrand at first doubles and Hannah Vickstrom and Abby Telander at the third spot. Kerri Wilkins and Katie Peterson also took care of business in three sets at second doubles.

"It was nice to get that first CLC match under our belts," head coach Dave Ronning said. "Rocori has a very young team and will look to contend with many teams in the CLC in the near future."
