Viking Speedway: Crouse wins Super Stock feature

Alexandria driver Jeff Crouse wrapped up a feature win to take home 35 points in the Super Stock Feature at the Viking Speedway during racing action this past Saturday night.

Crouse edged out Cory Tammen of Fargo in that feature. Rocky Yeats of Hoffman finished third, while Alexandria's Cody Lee took fifth. With the win, Crouse upped his points total to 579. He's six points up in the Super Stock standings over Jon Stepan of Brandon. Lee is 46 points behind in third place.

Travis Saurer of Elizabeth had a big night of his own. He took home two feature wins this past weekend, earning the 35 points in the Midwest Modified feature and the Modified feature. He held off Don Shaw of Ham Lake and Cody Skytland of Fargo in the modified race, while doing the same against Ronald Saurer of Dalton and Jamie Thorstad of Morris in his Midwest Modified.

Others racing to victory lane included Lee Kramer in the Pure Stock feature. Adam Burrows took home a win in the Street Stock feature and Kensington's Zach Johnson won the Late Model feature.

There are plenty of local drivers who have put together strong seasons to this point and are hanging near the top of the standings. Alexandria's Brett Miller is in second place in the Street Stock standings, 27 points behind West Fargo's Adam Burrows. Glenwood's Mark Blom is 37 points behind.

Carlos driver Josh Thoennes is right there in the Modified standings. He is just 10 points back of season-leader Cody Skytland of Fargo, while Garfield's Jason Thoennes is only 17 points off the lead.

Brandon's Dustin Bitzan is holding on to the narrowest of leads in the Midwest Modified standings. His 563 points is just one more than Morris driver Jamie Thorstad. Alexandria's Josh Muzik is just 28 points back in third place.

The Viking Speedway will be back in action this Saturday night with the Hall of Fame Night.
