The Alexandria Blizzard have a four-game win streak heading into the final two regular season games of the year after a 6-2 win over Granite City and a 5-2 win over Twin City.

The Blizzard, who have clinched a playoff spot, are now 31-14 and in third place in the West Division. North Iowa has the top spot in the West at 39-4, while Granite City is 34-7 and in second place.

The Blizzard play at Granite City tonight and at the Minnesota Flying Aces tomorrow, Saturday.

Six different players scored for the Blizzard in their win over the Lumberjacks last Friday, despite being outshot by Granite City.

Drake Hunter, Kyle Kuntz, Garrett Skinner, Ryen Zerfas, Tanner Duffney and Mick Dhein all notched goals for the Blizzard.

Hunter connected on the only goal of the first period on an assist by Dhein to get the Blizzard started on the right foot, and Alexandria never trailed from that point on.

Granite City tied the game just 2:06 into the second period, but Alexandria retaliated with three straight goals as Kuntz, assisted by Danny Pelzer, scored on a power play. Skinner added to Alexandria's advantage with an unassisted goal and Zerfas scored on a Nate Mettenburg pass to close out the period.

In the third, Alexandria sandwiched a pair of goals around a solo score by the Lunberjacks as Duffney scored on an assist by Ian Ecklund and Dhein finished the night with a short-handed, empty net goal.

Alexandria, which spent 20 minutes in the penalty box, was able to skate off all four Granite City power plays with no damage.

Dom DeGiusseppi got the win in goal as he stopped 27 of the shots sent his way.

Alexandria 5,

Twin City 2

After a scoreless first period, the Blizzard notched a pair of goals in the second to take a 2-1 lead over the Steel on their way to a 5-2 win Saturday night.

Dhein scored Alexandria's first goal on assists from Tom Schmidt and Spencer Peratolo before Twin City tied the game at 17:16. But just 20 seconds later, the Blizzard's leading scorer, Ian Ecklund, recorded his 32nd goal of the season on a pass from Danny Pelzer to give Alexandria back the lead.

Karson Kuntz, using an assist by brother, Kyle, scored on a power play early in the third to go up 3-1, but the Steel scored less than a minute later to cut the deficit to one.

Assisted by Ecklund and Austin Rudnick, Chayce Coenen scored on a power play to give Alexandria a two-goal advantage and Ricky Seidel's empty-netter finished off Twin City.

The Blizzard outshot the Steel 43-28, with DeGuisseppi again picking up the win for Alexandria as he stopped 26 of those attempts.
