Ryback's five goals help Blizzard blow out Breezy Point

The Alexandria Blizzard showed how big the gap is between the third and fifth-place teams in the West Division on Wednesday night as Aaron Ryback scored five goals and Alexandria beat Breezy Point 10-0.

The Blizzard (20-12) dominated the North Stars (7-24-2) from start to finish at the Runestone Community Center, scoring four in the first, two in the second and four more times in the third. Joe Anderson and Ryback owned the opening period as each scored twice. Ian Ecklund got on the board with a shorthanded goal in the second period before Ryback completed the hat trick with a power-play goal at 19:15.

The native of Winnepeg, Manitoba wasn't done. He added two more goals in the third period and finished with a total of six points. That upped his season totals to 38 points on 20 goals and 18 assists in 33 games played for Alexandria.

Alexandria's Garrett Skinner also had a hand in almost every goal. He added seven assists for the Blizzard, while Jordan Kraabel (1 goal, 2 assists) had three points, Anderson finished with four totals points after adding two assists and Ecklund had three points.

All the scoring made it an easy night in net for the Blizzard's Tanner Elmore. He got the shutout with 20 saves, upping his record to 11-3 on the season.

Alexandria will be back in action this Friday night as the Blizzard welcome in Minnesota for a 7:10 drop of the puck. The team then goes on the road on Saturday to face second-place Granite City in a 7:30 p.m. start time.
