Boys basketball: Bitzan’s 25 help B-E past Underwood

Taylor Bitzan

The Brandon-Evansville boys basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak by knocking off Underwood in a 55-46 final on Tuesday night.

The Chargers got 25 points from senior guard Taylor Bitzan to lead the way.

“Keagan Schiele scored 12 points and did a great job guarding Brody Rocholl most of the night,” B-E head coach Trent Hintermeister said. “Jake Hintermeister and James Strese came out in the second half with a lot of energy and helped us come out of a first-half funk. We were down 24-20 at halftime.”

The Chargers improved to 12-8 and 5-4 in the Little Eight Conference as they knocked the Rockets to 7-13 and 4-6 in league play.

“It's always fun putting together a comeback win,” coach Hintermeister said. “We had multiple guys who stepped up tonight and did the little things to get us this victory.”
