Junior Legion: Alex Black takes weekend tournament crown

The Alexandria Black junior legion baseball team took first place in a home, eight-team tournament held at Knute Nelson Ballpark June 8-10.

Alex Black took down Shakopee 12-4 on Sunday to earn first-place honors. Alexandria Red, meanwhile, fell 4-2 to Fergus Falls in the consolation championship.

In other action, Champlin defeated the Fargo Jets 6-2 in the second place game, and Watertown topped Totino Grace 13-9 in the third place game.
