Volleyball: Ashby sweeps CGB

The Ashby volleyball team made quick work of Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley in the season opener with a sweep of the Wolverines.

Madison VanSanten had 14 points from the serving line with one ace to go along with 15 assists and nine digs. Cassandra Jordan also had 14 serving points and led the back row with 15 digs. Haley Krupke had a team-high eight kills, while Kerstyn Schroeder added six kills and an assist.

“All in all, I thought our girls did a great job tonight,” head coach Andrea Knick said. “It’s good to get the first-game jitters out of us and start preparing for our first conference game against Battle Lake next week. Our consistent serving is something we do well, and that helped us a lot tonight. Haley Krupke had a good night at the net and Cassandra Jordan led our defense. It is fun to see these girls playing well together and having fun.”
