The Millerville Millers were able to fit a couple games in this past weekend during a rain-soaked couple days as they fell to Urbank-Parkers Prairie 13-4 on Saturday before beating Ashby 5-4 on Sunday in 12 innings.

Ashby and Millerville were tied at four apiece until Brandt Bitzan scored the game-winning run on a walk-off walk. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Millers as they improved to 3-5 on the season.

“This was a nice win for us,” the Millers’ Trent Hintermeister said. “Aaron Lund pitched the first seven innings and did a nice job once again. Nolan [Bartholomew] came in to pitch in the eighth inning and also did a great job for the three innings he pitched. Blake Satterlie picked up the win by pitching the 11th and 12th innings of this one. A walk-off walk is never glamorous, but after a bit of a losing streak we will take a win no matter how it happens.”

Ashby tied the game in the ninth inning after Millerville held a lead for most of the night. The Millers scored three in the third, using some Ashby errors to help take a 3-0 lead.

Levi Hintermeister had three hits in his final three at-bats for the Millers. Lund and Brandon Christianson both added a couple hits and a run scored.

The Millers will have three games this weekend. They will welcome in Osakis at 2 p.m. on Saturday before going to Kensington for a doubleheader on Sunday.
