Four Alex swimmers head to state
The Alexandria swim club had four swimmers qualify for state meets after competing in regional championships the weekend of March 1.
Six Alexandria swim club records were broken in the event. Records were broken by Molesworth in the girls ages 9 and 10 50-yard backstroke, Entzi in the girls ages 11 and 12 200-yard individual medley, Mikayla Meece in the senior girls 1,000-yard freestyle and 1,650-yard freestyle, and Waldhart in the senior girls 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard butterfly.
Two Alexandria swimmers also won events in the meet. Waldhart won the girls ages 15 and 16 50-yard freestyle race, while Molesworth won the girls ages 9 and 10 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard backstroke races.
Waldhart will attend the senior state swim meet this weekend to compete in the 50-yard freestyle.
Other Alexandria individuals will compete in a state meet on March 13 through 16. Entzi will compete in seven races for girls ages 11 and 12, including the 100-yard backstroke, 500-yard freestyle, 100-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle.
Molesworth will compete in the ages 10 and under 100-yard breaststroke, 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard breaststroke and 50-yard backstroke.
Holm will swim the boys 10 and under 50-yard freestyle and 50-yard backstroke.
In the regional meet Molesworth scored the fourth most points among girls ages 9 and 10, and among girls ages 15 and 16 Meece scored the fifth most points and Waldhart finished seventh.
The Alexandria swim club took eighth out of 15 teams.
