Alexandria 66, Moorhead 56

The Alexandria boys’ basketball team stopped a five game losing streak with a 66-56 win over Moorhead on the road Saturday.


Alexandria second at Section 5A True Team

The Alexandria boys’ swimming and diving team took second place behind Melrose/Sauk Centre Fusion at the Section 5A True Team swimming meet held Saturday at Discovery Middle School.

Mark Kallevig had the only first place finish for Alexandria in the 100 yard butterfly.

The top relay finish for Alexandria was a second place for the 200 yard medley relay team of Brandon McCormick, Elliot Jacobson, Kallevig and Brady Wolkow.

Other top finishes for the Cardinals included a second place finish for Mark Kallevig in the 200 yard individual medley, a third place finish for Max Jacobson in the 100 yard freestyle, a third place finish for Ben Tollefson in the 500 yard freestyle, a second place finish for Elliot Jacobson in the 100 yard breaststroke and a third place finish for Nick Chromey in the 100 yard breaststroke.


Minnewaska fifth in Benson

Minnewaska wrestling took fifth place out of six teams at the Benson Braves Classic wrestling tournament on January 18.

Ryan Stottler had the only first place finish for Minnewaska at 170 pounds in Benson. Other top finishes included second place at 113 pounds for Joseph Weaver, third place for Spencer Winter at 120 pounds, second place for Weston Lardy at 145 pounds and third place for Caleb Blaisdell at 152 pounds.
