Ashby drops fourth straight to Hillcrest

The Ashby boys’ basketball team lost its fourth game of the season Thursday 72-55 against Hillcrest.

Head coach Jeremy Knick said Hillcrest capitalized on its energy and second-chance points to build an early lead.

“I thought both teams played hard tonight, but Hillcrest came with a little more energy, especially in the first half,” Knick said. “We did not box out well, especially that first half and we gave them too many second chance points.”

The Arrows had a few players in foul trouble in the game, and Knick said Dakota Fossan and Gavin Saxton both provided defense and hustle for the Arrows.

Blake Ohren led Ashby with 36 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks and two assists.
