Blizzard wrap up Showcase at 3-1

The Alexandria Blizzard won its third straight game at the NA3HL Showcase in Chicago this afternoon to finish the weekend 3-1 at the event. 

The Blizzard dominated Cincinnati in a 7-2 win that saw Alexandria score four goals in the first period. The Blizzard added one in the second and two more in the third to put the game away. 

Joe Anderson had another big game for the Blizzard. The star forward fnished with five points on three goals and two assists. Bo Gronseth added three points on a goal and two assists and Ian Ecklund had three assists, as well. Garrett Skinner, Mick Dhein and Nate Mettenburg all had a goal against Cincinnati. 

The Blizzard outshot the Swords 39-28. Tanner Elmore turned aside 26 of those shots to pick up the win in net for Alexandria. The Blizzard will be back in Minnesota on Wednesday night as the team goes on the road to take on Granite City. Breezy Point will come to the Runestone Community Center for a 7:10 drop of the puck on Friday before North Iowa comes to Alexandria on Saturday night.
