Women's golf: Thul goes out with academic honor
Alexandria native Emily Thul wrapped up her collegiate golf career at the University of St. Thomas by playing in the Division III NCAA championship this past spring, and she also went out with high honors in the classroom.
On July 6, Thul joined teammate Kate Drimel of St. Michael in being named to the 2018 Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar team with grade-point averages above 3.75. Thul graduated in May with a degree in psychology and will attend graduate school this fall in Tucson, AZ.
On the golf course this past season, she posted a 77.7 scoring average and tied for 27th over four rounds at the NCAA Championships with a 31-over par 323 (78, 84, 74, 87). She wrapped up her career at St. Thomas as a four-year varsity starter with 15 top-five finishes, including three medalist honors.
