Girls Basketball: Lakers knock off the Braves

The Minnewaska girls basketball team took on the Braves in Benson on Tuesday night for the second West Central Conference game of the year.

The Lakers led at the half and never relinquished control, ending the game 55-44.

Sophomore Emma Thorfinnson had a team-leading 13 points on the night followed by sophomore Ellie Danielson with nine. Senior Rachel Erickson and sophomore Hannah Hoffmann each chipped in eight points.

The Lakers had a total of 26 rebounds on the night. Danielson contributed eight of those.

This WCC win pushes the Lakers' overall record to 2-1.

Minnewaska heads back home for their next game against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Dec. 8 at 7:15 p.m.
