Volleyball: Silverstreaks drop conference match to Royalton
The Osakis volleyball team faced Royalton for the second time this season in a Prairie Conference matchup and fell to the Royals again in Osakis on Thursday.
"We started and finished the night with a lot of energy and confidence," Silverstreaks coach Kirsten Wessel said. "We were in complete control of the match in game one."
The Streaks took the first set 25-19.
In set two, the Royals came out serving aggressively and a few passing errors shook the Streaks' confidence, Wessel said. Sets two and three went to the Royals, 25-13 and 25-11, respectively.
"It was nice to see that we were able to overcome that and fight back in game four," Wessel said. "I really felt that if we could have won game four, that we would have also won game five."
The Streaks were defeated 26-24 in the fourth.
"Overall, we played better than the last time we played them," Wessel said. "Everyone on the team made positive contributions in the match."
Bobbi Jo Alverson and Tianna Stanek each had six of the Streaks' 26 total kills on the night. Emma Johnson led defensively with 16 of the 68 total digs followed by Harlie Falzone with 14.
This loss drops the Silverstreaks' overall record to 6-11 and their conference record to 4-3.
