Volleyball: Streaks drop conference game to Thunder

The Osakis volleyball team hit the road on Tuesday night for a Prairie Conference match and came back home with a four set loss to Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (4-12).

"We didn't play our best tonight," Silverstreaks head coach Kirsten Wessel said. "We worked hard, but LPGE did a great job of keeping us scrambling."

The Thunder took the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-23. The Streaks rallied and won the third set, 25-20 but they weren't able to hang onto that momentum. They surrendered the third set, 25-22.

"They placed the ball well and we didn't," Wessel said. "I give them a lot of credit."

This loss drops the Streaks record to 6-10 with a 4-2 conference record.

Outside hitters Bobbi Jo Alverson and Tianna Stanek each had six kills for the Streaks. Senior defensive specialist Harley Falzone led the defense with 17 of the team's 72 total digs. Stanek had 13 digs and Emma Johnson had 12.

Osakis hosts Royalton (12-4) on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7:30 for another conference match.
