Volleyball: Streaks come from behind to defeat Swanville, 3-2
The Osakis volleyball team started out slow with two set losses to Swanville, but the Streaks rallied and won the final three sets for a 3-2 victory.
“It was nice to see the girls bounce back from being down two sets and win the next three,” Osakis coach Kirsten Wessel said. “They played with a lot of grit in this match. They proved to themselves that they can make a huge comeback.”
The Silverstreaks’ outside hitter Tianna Stanek led with 14 of the team’s total 56 digs followed closely by defensive specialist Harle Falzone’s 10 digs. Middle hitters Cynthia VanAcker and Maddie Johanson led the team on the net with 11 and 10 of the team’s 36 kills, respectively.
“So many of them can play several positions and can adjust quickly during a match,”
Wessel said. “I’m proud to be the coach of a program that has such great team effort like this.”
