Boys basketball: Arrows fall to Henning

The Ashby boys basketball team dropped its second game of the Henning Holiday Tournament to the host Henning team in a 56-39 game.

Ashby sophomore Scott Johnson hit a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to make it a 27-23 Henning lead at the break. The Hornets responded with a big second half to drop the Arrows to 1-3 and move to 2-5 themselves.

"We played hard again tonight, but you could definitely tell we ran out of gas in the second half," Ashby head coach Jeremy Knick said. "We only had seven guys tonight, and I think we were drained by the second half. Give Henning a lot of credit. Their young team played very well."

Johnson had 16 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Arrows. Christian Norby added seven points and five rebounds. Jaden Norby had six points and six boards. Dakota Ecker finished with six points and two steals, and Rolland Fossell added two points and three rebounds.
