Blue Anchors lose pitchers' duel at Eau Claire

Eau Claire 1, Alexandria 0

The Alexandria Blue Anchors lost a pitchers’ duel on Sunday as they fell at Eau Claire 1-0 to fall to 2-3 in the second half of the season.

Spencer Koopmans took a tough-luck loss for Alexandria after going six solid innings. The Express got to him for their only run in the first inning. Koopmans allowed just four hits and a walk, while striking out one. Graylon Brown threw the final two frames, allowing two hits and striking out one.

That was enough for Eau Claire (3-2) as three pitchers combined to shut out the Blue Anchors on five hits. Jordan Ruckman started and got the win by throwing six innings, scattering two hits and three walks, while striking out three.

These two teams will play again tonight at Eau Claire before the Express come to Alexandria on Tuesday night. Both games are scheduled to start at 6:35 p.m.
