Ashby volleyball: Arrows fall in three to Henning

The Ashby volleyball team fell in three sets to Henning on Tuesday night as the Arrows dropped to 5-13 on the season and Henning moved to 15-5.

It was the first of two homecoming matches the Arrows will play in this week and the Hornets made sure they got a win on their home court with 25-20, 25-8 and 25-11 victories.

“I thought [we] played some of our best volleyball in the first two sets,” Ashby head coach Andrea Knick said. “We played great defense and covered the floor really well. Behind the leadership of our seniors, we worked well together as a team on and off the court. Henning has a great attack and found many of our holes. They have a strong team.”

Alexis Ness led the way for the Arrows at the net with eight kills. Madison VanSanten added eight digs and 14 assists, while Cassandra Jordan finished with a team-high 17 digs.
