Alexandria 3, Fergus Falls 2 (18-25, 23-25, 25-19, 26-24, 15-13)

Alexandria came out on top over Fergus Falls 3-2 in a battle of undefeated teams in the Central Lakes Conference.

Fergus Falls took the first two sets (25-18, 25-23) to put the Cardinals in an early hole, but they responded winning the final three (25-19, 26-24, 15-13).

The Cardinals were led by Liz Schultz, who had 21 kills in the match. Amanda Haack had 52 assists, and Amanda Christianson led the Cardinals with 17 digs.

Osakis 3, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 1 (25-11, 21-25, 25-13, 25-8)

The Osakis volleyball team moved to 3-0 in conference play with a 3-1 victory over LPGE on Thursday.

Annalise Savageau and Brooke Sorenson both had 13 kills in the match for the Silverstreaks, and Breanna Larson had 22 digs.


Osakis 6, West Central Area 1

The Osakis tennis team moved to 12-0 on the season with a 6-1 victory over West Central Area.

The Silverstreaks swept in singles with victories by Taylor Kraemer (6-1, 6-1), Hannah Baker (6-1, 6-0), Alexa Hoffarth (6-0, 6-2) and Hannah Szech (6-0, 6-1).

In doubles, Carley Uhlenkamp and Missy Weir won at second doubles (6-3, 6-4) and Krista Fearing and Jenna Fearing won at third doubles (6-0, 6-2).

Alexandria 7, Fergus Falls 0

Alexandria swept an away match Thursday night against conference opponent Fergus Falls.

The Cardinals had singles victories from Ellie Bergstrand (6-0, 6-1), Carly Snell (6-0, 6-2), Bria Schueler (7-5, 6-2) and Hannah Vickstrom (6-1, 6-0). In doubles, victories came from Marissa Wheeler and Rachel Sjostrand (6-1, 6-2), Kim Wilkins and Kerri Wilkins (6-0, 6-1) and Abby Telander and Kaitlynee Peterson (6-2, 6-2).


Alexandria 2, Willmar 0

The Alexandria boys soccer team broke a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over Willmar in double overtime.

Kagan Foster scored in the first half for the Cardinals, and a second half goal by Willmar put the game in a 1-1 tie heading into overtime.

In the second overtime Foster put in his second goal of the game, and the Cardinals were able to hold off the Willmar attack for the final two minutes for the win.

Alexandria 7, Willmar 2

The Alexandria girls soccer team won a 7-2 road victory against Willmar.

Haley Burns scored three goals in the game, Anna Spanbauer had two goals and an assist, Karsen Granning had a goal and an assist, and Kayla Dewanz had a header goal of a corner kick.

Sarah Bruzek had five saves in the game.


The Alexandria girls cross country team took second and the boys cross country team earned fourth and the in the Luck Lindy Invite in Little Falls.

The girls cross country team were led by race winner Megan Hasz, and Bethany Hasz finished right behind her in second.

For the boys, Aaron Runge took 14th in the race and Trent Piepenburg took 18th.
