Alexandria's Dee Novotny didn't have many competitors to go through, but she still came away with a second straight Women's Division club championship at the Alexandria Golf Club on Sunday afternoon.

Novotny and Andrea Nelson were the only two women in the field at the championship and Novotny made a push on Saturday that was simply insurmountable for Nelson. The two played a 36-hole match-play championship and Novotny found herself 10-up after the first 18 holes. That set the stage for a casual Sunday as she won the match after finishing the front nine to take another title.

"It went well," Novotny said of her round on Saturday. "I just came out here to have some fun. I actually haven't played much this summer, so I just wanted to play carefree. That's the best way to play golf."

Novotny's only wish on the day was that there would have been a bigger field to compete against.

"This is the only tournament that I played this year," she said. "It's unfortunate that there wasn't more people. There were only the two of us. It's nice [to win], but really I just wanted to come out and play."
