Minnewaska tennis rolls to victory over Montevideo

The Minnewaska tennis team moved to 7-0 in the season with a 7-0 win over Montevideo on Tuesday.

The only match that went three sets on the singles side was at first singles, where Ellen Stensrud won 6-0, 2-6, 6-2. Jada Hoffman won 6-2, 6-1 at second singles, Hannah Freske won 6-4, 6-3 at third singles and Myranda Thoen won 6-1, 6-1 at fourth singles.

Only one other match went to three sets in doubles. The first doubles team of Rachel Riley and Makenna Hanson won 6-0, 6-1 and the second doubles team of Joelle Thorfinnson and Annika Pederson won 6-2, 7-5. The third doubles team of Karissa LaMont and Sarah Freske came from behind for a 1-6, 7-6 (6), (10-8) victory.

The Minnewaska tennis team is now 3-0 in the conference. They will play Fergus Falls at home on Saturday before playing a home match against second ranked Osakis on Monday.
