Alex swim Club: Entzi competes in Central Zone meet

Alexandria's Lacey Entzi competed in the Central Zone 14 and Under Championship swim meet in Topeka, Kansas last weekend, finishing in the top eight in four events.

As a member of the Alexandria Swim Club, Entzi earned her way to the central zone competition with her performance at a state meet earlier this month. Entzi competed in the 11-12 age group at the central zone swim meet.

"For Lacey's first trip to the zone meet I am very proud of how she did, setting two new club records and placing four events in the top eight and three events in the top 16," said coach Dave Molesworth. "That is such a great showing at a high-level meet."

On Friday, Entzi earned sixth place in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 33.04, 10th place in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:04.85, and sixth place as part of a 200-freestyle relay team with a time of 29.70.

Entzi competed in two events on Saturday, placing 35th in the preliminary round of the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 33.51, and eighth place in the 50-meter freestyle finals with a time of 29.70.

Competing as part of the 400-freestyle relay team on Sunday, Entzi finished in sixth place in the preliminary round of competition. Entzi also finished in 15th place in the 200-meter backstroke and 10th place in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:21.17.

The Minnesota team finished in first place in the 14 and under central zone meet with a score of 5,405. The second place Missouri Valley team finished with a score of 2,471.
