The Brandon-Evansville softball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a run in the bottom of the seventh that sent the Chargers home a 6-5 winner over West Central Area last Thursday.

"Today was a good battle all the way to the end," head coach Tim Pattrin said. "Kinsley [Randt] pitched a great game. Kennedy Lund came through in the end with a walk-off double, scoring Sara Roers. It's been great seeing all of our young players step up as the year has gone on."

It was Lund's second hit of the night. She scored twice and was one of three Brandon-Evansville players with two hits. Alea Alstead and Katie Kokett joined her in that category as Kokett finished with a team-high two RBIs.

Randt got the win after scattering 11 hits and three walks over seven innings. She struck out four.

The Chargers earned the No. 2 seed in the Subsection 6A South tournament after going 7-6 overall. They were scheduled to open up against seventh-seeded Hillcrest Lutheran Academy last night, Tuesday.
