Girls' golf: Osakis has the CMC lead

n two Central Minnesota Conference meets last week, Osakis finished first and second as all Silverstreak players continue to step up.

At Maple Lake last Tuesday, the Silverstreaks shot their way to a 17-stroke lead over Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa as Peyton Garcia earned medalist honors with her 41.

"Peyton managed the wind and the heat to play a solid round of golf," said head coach Steve Tax.

Garcia was followed closely by Annalise Savageau with a 42, and Ariel Chalmers with a 44.

At BBE on Friday, Savageau fired a 37 to cruise to medalist honors as the Silverstreaks finished second to Maple Lake.

"Annalise was able to shoot her career best score in less than ideal conditions," said Tax. "Katelyn Foster has shown vast improvement this season.

"Osakis has a 79-shot lead over second place Maple Lake going into the last conference event at Howard Lake."

The Silverstreaks were to have played at Howard Lake yesterday.
