Alexandria boys' hockey: Tech ices Cards
The Alexandria boys' hockey team went into the Section 6A tournament last night as the fifth seed and searching for a fresh start after dropping the regular-season finale 5-1 to St. Cloud Tech last Thursday.
The Cardinals dropped eight of their final 10 games in the regular season after the Tigers swept the season series from them. Tom Schmidt gave Alexandria an early lead with a first-period goal, but the Tigers responded with five unanswered goals to take a commanding lead.
Four of those came in the second period and two of them came on the power play. Alexandria took a game misconduct penalty at 9:38 that set up goals by Joe Setrum and David Reinholz.
