Beetles baseball: Alexandria has three post-season All-Stars

The Alexandria Beetles were well represented on the postseason all-star team that was announced this past Sunday.

Ben Moore led three Beetles players named to the team as the outfield/catcher from Alabama was named the league MVP. Moore hit .335 with 16 home runs, 18 doubles, 84 RBIs and 66 runs scored in his first season in Alexandria.

Tanner Vavra and Anthony Bazzani were also named to the team after making the first half all-star team as well. Vavra tied for the league lead with a .381 batting average. The second-year player from Valparaiso scored 58 runs and drove in 40.

Bazzani dominated the Northwoods League for the second straight summer. He led the league with 17 saves. Bazzani posted a 1.76 ERA after allowing just 27 hits and 13 walks. He struck out 47 in just 30 2/3 innings of work.
