Alexandria VFW Green falls on the road to Madison 15-5

The Alexandria Green VFW team had a tough outing at Madison Tuesday night, falling 15-5 in six innings.

Aaron Billberg took the pitching loss as he went the first inning, giving up six runs, five earned, on five hits and a walk.

Gideon Burnham went two for three at the plate, scoring once and driving in two more.

Alexandria scored three runs in the opening frame as Brock Wood and Zach Carlson both walked, with Burnham bringing Wood home on a single and Dan Anderson bringing home Carlson on a single. Carlson's attempt to advance to second was cut off, allowing Burnham to score.

The Green's other two runs came in the fifth as Jake DelaRosby led off with a walk, and advance on an error and scored on a hit by Carlson.

Carlson scored after Burnham slapped a single.
