The Brandon-Evansville softball team saw a memorable season come to an end sooner than expected in a 16-0 loss to Parkers Prairie in the Section 6A South playoffs last Thursday.

The Chargers had beaten the Panthers 8-5 earlier in the season, but it was all Parkers Prairie from the get-go last Thursday. The Panthers jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first half inning. From there, Sari Noga took over from the circle as she threw a complete game five-inning shutout.

Jenna Meissner had an uncharacteristic tough outing for the Chargers. She took the loss, throwing all five innings.

Parkers Prairie moved on to face Verndale in the subsection finals. The Panthers continued their solid play with a 10-1 victory over the Pirates to advance and play Sebeka.

Their run finally came to an end against the Trojans in a tight 3-2 game on Tuesday night.

The Panthers finished with a 12-7 record overall, while the Chargers ended with a 20-2 mark and as champions of the Pheasant Conference.
