Osakis volleyball

The Osakis volleyball team played what head coach Kirsten Wessel called its best match of the season last Thursday against Eagle Valley.

The Silverstreaks took care of the Rebels in three games by scores of 25-15, 25-13 and 25-10. It was the seventh win of the season for Osakis and its third in a row.

"We passed awesome," Wessel said. "This is the best that I have seen us play so far this season. Our serving was great, our passing was incredible, our hitting was outstanding with 82 percent hitting efficiency and 26 kills for 52 percent kill efficiency. I was very pleased with how we played tonight. I would like to see that kind of focus and intensity consistently throughout the season. I believe that we can be [that consistent]."

Kari Ludwig led the attack at the net with eight kills, while Stephanie Massmann chipped in with six. Stacey Kern accumulated 20 assists on the night, while also going 16 of 17 from the serving line.

Alicia Wagner and Whitney Lee were a big part of that strong passing game with nine and eight digs, respectively.
