Letter to the Editor: Change in fair's flower competition is wrong
To the editor:
At the 2017 event, the Douglas County Fair announced that next year, 2018, a person couldn't compete in the flower arranging competition the following year if you were a previous winner. This seems wrong and unfair for any event. Clearly, this was aimed at me because I have competed for eight or nine years and never lost. I never did flower arranging as a job and never even took classes, so I feel targeted for just having talent.
Before the fair (August 11) I sent an email to the president of the fair board concerning this and got no reply. This issue is clearly wrong and a change needs to be made for future participants.
