Donna M. Siegrist

Donna Marie (Skramstad) Siegrist was born June 28, 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Walter and Evelyn (Dahl) Skramstad. She attended country school near Big Lake, MN. Donna worked at Fanny Farmer's Chocolates in Minneapolis, which was a dream job as she had a love for chocolate.

Donna met William Siegrist at a bowling alley where William broke the ice by letting her know he liked her bowling shoes. On August 17, 1953, Donna was united in marriage to William Siegrist in Sioux Falls, SD and couple made their home in Minneapolis. The couple was blessed with two children, Craig and Jodi. She later worked for Pillsbury as an accountant where she worked until her retirement. Donna and William retired about the same time and the couple moved to the Little Lake Osakis near Osakis.

Donna and William had a great sense of humor, loved bowling, dancing, fishing, and having people out to the lake. Donna enjoyed cooking, taking care of kids and great-grandkids, and was always there taking care of everyone else. She loved doing puzzles, crocheting, knitting and making clothes for her kids when they were young. Donna was an excellent hostess of parties, especially the Christmas Eve party, and made wonderful traditional meals and lefsa. She also loved her old western tv shows, especially any John Wayne shows.

Donna died on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Edgewood Vista at the age of 83. She is survived by her son, daughter, Jodi Milless of Brooklyn Park;Craig (Jeanette) Siegrist of Alexandria; grandchildren, Magan (Dallas) Paulson, James Siegrist, Cory Milless, Kelly Milless, Jesse Milless, Jadelin Milless, Meizi Milless, Nicole (Jake) Dahlheimer, Kylie (Jeffrey Bradley) Siegrist, Samel Siegrist; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Siegrist, Kalista Paulson, Sabella Paulson, Jodi Marie Siegrist, Nick Johnsen, and Evie Bradley; brother, David Siegrist of Corcoran, MN; sister, Judy (Kenneth) Bohler of Osakis; and many nieces and nephews. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Evelyn Skramstad; step mother, Viola Skramstad; brothers and sisters, Carrol Skramstad, Wayne Skramstad, Barbara Burns, Sharon Erhardt, Walter Skramstad, and Karen Daniels.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:30 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Spirit Life Church; 912 State Hwy 29 N; Alexandria, MN. Visitation will be held from 2 -2:30 PM prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Inurnment will be held 11:15 AM, Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
