Indivisible group to meet in Alexandria
The West Central Minnesota Indivisible Group is seeking to get more participation from those in the Douglas County area.
Beginning this Saturday, Aug. 11, the group, which is connected to other Indivisible groups in the state and nation, will hold meetings in Alexandria on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
The meetings will take place upstairs at the DFL building at 607 Broadway (the old Mustard Seed store) until election day or until another meeting site is found.
The group encourages active participation in democracy. According to the website, www.indivisible.org, its mission is "to cultivate and lift up a grassroots movement of local groups to defeat the Trump agenda, elect progressive leaders and realize bold progressive policies."
The local group was formed on Feb. 4, 2017, and has met nearly every week since then. Members meet the first Saturday of the month in Starbuck and the third Saturday of the month in Glenwood.
