'Hockey for Haiti' is tonight at the RCC

The Alexandria Blizzard hockey team and the American Red Cross are teaming up to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

A "Hockey for Haiti" fundraiser will take place tonight, Saturday, for the Blizzards' home game against the Owatonna Express.

Ticket sales proceeds will go directly toward the Haiti earthquake relief effort. Tickets are $6 for students and $9 for adults. Call (320) 763-7600 to purchase tickets or pick them up at the Blizzard box office, Elden's Food Fair or Pete's County Market.

Blizzard management say they're hoping to pack the rink for tonight's game.

The American Red Cross will also be there to answer questions, hand out information and talk about the relief effort during the first intermission.

Game time is 7 p.m. at the Runestone Community Center.
