Dalton man possibly drowned, cause of death still under investigation

DALTON, Minn. -- The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a possible drowning after a man was found dead in Tenmile Lake Saturday night.

Family members discovered the man, identified as 62-year-old Douglas Koch of Dalton, by a dock outside of his property. Koch was unresponsive and not breathing when his body was pulled from the lake.

Emergency crews initiated CPR and transported Koch to Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minn., where he later died. According to the sheriff’s department a medical issue could be a potential factor in Koch’s death. The official cause of death is still under investigation.
