August 6

Someone tampered with the quarter machines at the laundry room at Colonial Court Apartments. Similar incidents were reported at the Kenwood Drive Apartments and at the McKay Apartments.

A worker at the jail was reportedly kicked several times by an inmate.

August 7

A man left Elden’s Fresh Foods without paying for several unknown items.

A bicycle was stolen from a residence on Fourth Avenue East.

Someone slashed the tires of a bike at a residence on Irving Street and left on a scooter.

A resident on Kenwood Street reported that someone in a red Chevy Silverado drove by his house several times with the bass turned up so loud that it was shaking items in the house.

Two juvenile shoplifters were apprehended at Mills Fleet Farm.

A pizza delivery person accidentally went to the wrong house in the South L’Homme Dieu Drive/McKay Avenue area and the person who answered the door flashed a gun at him.

August 8

An adult male shoplifter was apprehended at Mills Fleet Farm.

August 9

A resident reported that he put some clothes in a USagain donation bin and then remembered he had left $300 in cash in one of the pockets. Police left a message with the company to call the resident or police.

Two juvenile males were issued citations for shoplifting at Mills Fleet Farm.

August 10

A vehicle was pulled over on Second Avenue East and Nokomis Street. The driver tested under the legal limit for alcohol but he was cited for driving after revocation, speeding, having an open container of alcohol and no proof of insurance.

A resident on Sixth Avenue East called police at 12:52 a.m. and requested assistance in getting a bat out of his upstairs apartment. He was advised to call a pest control company.


August 6

A man driving an older-style maroon car drove past a woman walking on County Road 28 SW, Alexandria and blew kisses at her. He drove past her several more times, making lewd gestures. He was described as a younger male, bald with a stocky build. The woman called someone to pick her up.

Dispatch received a report of a vehicle tearing up an oat field near County Road 82 SE and driving in the ditch. A deputy arrested the driver for fourth-degree drunk driving.

August 7

A vehicle that was stolen in Pope County was recovered at the Walmart parking lot. It was towed to the sheriff’s office garage.

A road grader was reportedly leaving piles of gravel on Hope Road SE, Alexandria. A caller said that his daughter hit one of the piles, damaging her vehicle’s fan.

Items were stolen from a vehicle parked on Oak Street in Miltona.

August 8

Deputies assisted with the arrest of a drunk driver on Todd County Road 1.

August 9

Someone hit a boat and a boat lift at a lake residence on Smokey Timbers Road NW, Miltona.

An electronic tablet was stolen in Brandon.

A rod, reel and tackle were stolen from a locked compartment in a boat near Betsy Ross Road NW, Alexandria.

August 10

A man on a Jet Ski was reportedly chasing geese on the west end of Devils Lake. He also shot a goose and threw it into the trees. Deputies could not locate the suspect.
