July 16

Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the jail at 2:54 a.m. The vehicle’s brake lights were on and someone was passed out in the front seat. They issued a citation to the passenger for possessing drug paraphernalia and arrested the driver for fleeing in a motor vehicle and possessing a small amount of marijuana.

A vehicle parked in a garage on Lake Park Lane SE, Alexandria was egged.

Three long boards, a bag and an iPod were stolen from a car parked on Miltona Carlos Road NE, Carlos.

July 17

Two gas cans for a boat and a 10-speed bicycle were reported stolen from East Abercrombie Trail NW, Evansville.

A wallet was stolen from a vehicle parked near Meeker Court in Evansville. It contained ID, $80 to $100 in cash and a Dunham’s gift card.

A theft of a water meter head was reported from a house on Hayes Avenue in Brandon.

July 18

A driver called law enforcement and admitted that he was accessing the Internet on his cell phone when he ran over some geese on County Road 82 between Evansville and Brandon. The information was forwarded on to the Department of Natural Resources.

A rural Garfield resident reported that her neighbor’s cow keeps getting out and is coming into her yard. The neighbor reportedly told her that if she keeps complaining, he’ll get buffalo instead.

Fishing equipment was stolen from a boat at Betsy Ross Resort near Alexandria.

July 19

Deputies responded to a report of a 14-year-old intoxicated female who was passed out in a vehicle in front of the gas station in Brandon at 12:25 a.m. Deputies issued a citation for minor consumption of alcohol.

Twelve juveniles from the Minot/Bismarck hockey team were warned not to jump off the Cowdry/Darling bridge.

A recreational vehicle caught on fire near Cottage Lane SW, Alexandria at 10:48 p.m.

July 20

After responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle at 10th Avenue SW and Townhall Road, deputies arrested the driver for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated and open bottle.

A 17-year-old girl’s cell phone and shoes were stolen at the Miltona street dance.

A wallet was found at Lake L’Homme Dieu Beach.


July 16

Several items were stolen from a man’s apartment on Jefferson Street while he was in jail.

Someone slashed a tire on a vehicle parked near 22nd Avenue East.

Dispatch received a report of five teenagers throwing rocks at little children at the Lake Burgen public access. They also reportedly said they had marijuana in their car. The car left when the complainant said she was calling the police.

A resident lost a checkbook at Pete’s County Market.

A man reported that he thought he was shot in the head with a pellet gun while he was riding a bike near Lake Street. He said the suspect was in a maroon Impala. He refused medical treatment.

After a caller reported that he had witnessed a drug deal in a gas station parking lot on Third Avenue East, officers responded and issued citations to two juveniles for possessing drug paraphernalia.

July 17

A transformer caught fire near 10th Avenue East and Lake Street at 6:34 a.m.

A Bulova stainless steel woman’s watch was found near Sixth Avenue East.

An officer observed a driver going 60 miles per hour on Third Avenue and cited the driver for speeding.

A wallet was found on Highway 29 near Arby’s.

July 18

An 11-foot flag was stolen from a residence on North Nokomis, across from Bug-A-Boo Bay.

A shoplifter was apprehended at Walmart.

A chainsaw fell off the back of a truck and was lost somewhere near Henry Avenue and Nokomis Street.

A wallet containing identification was stolen from a car parked on Broadway.

July 19

Someone kicked in a basement window and entered a residence on City Park Road. Nothing was reported missing.

July 20

At 5:29 a.m., an employee at the Holiday Inn requested assistance with two intoxicated individuals. A minor consumption of alcohol citation was issued and two people were escorted off the property.

Dispatch received a report of people going into a house on Fillmore Street and taking things while the renter is in jail.
