Murder charges reinstated in 2013 stabbing

Arrest made in Belle River burglary

An arrest was made in connection with a May 13 burglary that happened in Belle River Township.

The incident began when a relative of a local family came to visit their home on County Road 3 NE and saw an unknown vehicle parked near a garage.

When the relative pulled in the driveway, the suspect got into his own car and fled. The relative called 911 and watched the vehicle pull off the road and into a field.

Sheriff’s deputies located the suspect’s vehicle parked in a shed at another residence on County Road 3 and began a search for the suspect.

Stolen property from the initial burglary was found in the field but the suspect was not located.

The sheriff’s office sent out a news release asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect. Six days later, Stewart Daniel Blank, 41, of Carlos was arrested. He’s been charged with third-degree burglary.

The investigation into the theft and other related thefts is ongoing, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Osakis Police Department and the West Central Drug Task Force.
