March 12 At 2:48 a.m., a deputy came across a vehicle in the ditch near Rosewood Lane and 6th Avenue with three occupants. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was arrested on drunk driving charges.

A Dodge Dakota truck caught on fire at 103 Main Street in Evansville at about 3:20 p.m.

March 13

Some rolling tobacco was found on the curb near Carlos Elementary School and turned over to the sheriff’s department.

March 14

A snowmobile that was reported stolen was recovered near Mallard Lane NW, Alexandria.

Deputies arrested a male suspect on Pleasant View Drive NW, Alexandria who was wanted by the Columbus, Ohio police department in connection with the rape of a child under 13.

March 15

A resident near 100th Street near Osakis reported hearing five shots fired near his house by someone in a late-model Chevrolet truck. A deputy investigated and found a .22 shell near the residence but didn’t locate the vehicle.

Deputies chased down three juveniles that ran from a party on Donway Drive. Two citations were issued.


March 13

Someone broke a lock off one of the vacuums at Mike’s Car Wash and stole coins.

A resident reported that someone stole medications out of his car while he was parked at Walmart.

Items were stolen from a burned mobile home at Olson’s Mobile Home Park.

An ice auger was stolen from the back of a truck that was parked near 4th Avenue East.

A shoplifting incident was reported at Fleet Farm. Deputies are investigating.

A gunshot was reported near Hawthorne Street at about 11 p.m. Officers didn’t find the source of the noise.

March 14

A shoplifting incident was reported at Walmart. Officers are investigating.

A small amount of money was found in the parking lot at Douglas County Library. It was placed into evidence.

March 15

Dispatch received a report of two drivers illegally dumping garbage in the containers by the Social Services office.

March 16

A theft was reported at Walmart.

Several gunshots were reported on North Nokomis Street at about 7:30 p.m. It turned out to be backfires from a vehicle near Elden’s Fresh Foods.
