A burglary was reported at a residence on Aga Drive. A fire-proof safe with $1,100 was taken from a bedroom.

Dispatch received several reports of a semi stuck on the ice near County Road 45 and Evergreen Lane, blocking both lanes of traffic.

Someone broke into a storage shed and stole some items at a residence on South McKay Avenue.

A resident on Jefferson Street lost a brown leather wallet containing identification, a debit card and $80 in cash. Three fraudulent transactions have since appeared on his debit card account.

SHERIFF January 27

Deputies were asked to check on the welfare of a first grader in Brandon who walks to the school by herself and doesn’t have any heat in her house. Someone has since donated a load of wood so they have heat.

A Garfield resident was bit by a pit bull. The bite was serious enough to break the skin.

A driver on Unumb Street was cited for driving after revocation, having no proof of insurance and using revoked license plates.

January 28

A Miltona resident reported that someone opened some credit cards in his name.

A deputy came upon a snowmobile that was stuck in a small group of trees near the intersections of County Roads 9 and 20 near Carlos. Foot tracks at the scene led to a nearby residence. It appears the person made it back to the house safely.
