Editor’s note: In response to requests from many readers, the Echo Press is bringing back the police and sheriff blotter. The following is a snapshot of just some of the calls that the Alexandria Police Department responded to in the past week. Future blotter items will also include the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

November 8 A resident reported that her checkbook-sized wallet was stolen after she left it in the restroom at Burger King on North Nokomis Street.

A resident reported that a female stranger walked into her apartment and stated that she lived there. Officers transported the stranger to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Officers investigated a report of a red truck doing doughnuts in a lot on South Broadway. Officers found the owner of the truck and arrested him on a warrant from Otter Tail County.

November 10 A house at 401 34th Avenue East was broken into. It’s unknown if anything is missing. The incident is under investigation.

November 11 A theft was reported at a residence at 1113 Jefferson Street. Keys from vehicles and $135 in cash from a wallet are missing.

An inmate reportedly hit a staff person.

November 12 Someone rummaged through a car on Elm Street and stole several items.

A license plate was found on Agnes Boulevard.

A vacant house on Elm Street that is for sale was broken into. There were signs that someone had been sleeping there recently. Food and trash were found in the rooms.

A wallet was found in the road on South Broadway.

Officers gave a tour and educational presentation to Cub Scout Troop 418.
