"Providing exceptional care, wholeheartedly, for the whole family."

When Alisha Husfeldt was a preschooler, she was asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

She answered with certainty and confidence, "A doctor."

She even drew a picture of herself wearing a stethoscope and caring for a patient.

"This drawing is now hanging in my office," said Dr. Husfeldt, who was selected Best Physician in the Lakes Area. "It was framed and given to me by my parents at my medical school graduation. Some things are just meant to be!"

Husfeldt became a doctor in 2011 when she graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School. After a residency at Mayo Family Medicine in Wisconsin, she joined the Sanford Health Broadway Clinic in Alexandria in 2014.

"My first experience with Broadway Clinic was when I was a medical student on a rural rotation. Very exciting to now be back with them as a physician!" she said.

Today, Husfeldt works with 25 primary care providers at Sanford, along with 27 specialty providers and 128 support staff.

What prompted people to choose her as the Best Physician?

"Each of my patients is uniquely special and important to me," she said. "It is my goal that with each interaction, I make them feel as though they are my top priority. I also strive to create a relationship with each one of my patients that relays my genuine desire to care for them comprehensively at that moment and beyond."

Her goal, she said, is to establish a relationship based on sincerity and trust. Husfeldt provides a full scope of outpatient family medicine, including obstetrics, skin biopsies, birth control, circumcisions and joint injections.
