A Garfield home was damaged Saturday when a fire started in a wood pile.
A Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputy used a fire extinguisher to knock down the fire after it was reported at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at 6536 County Road 82 NW.
The Garfield Fire Department then put out the fire.
The fire caused exterior damage to the house and interior smoke damage.
The homeowner arrived after getting called at work about the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the state Fire Marshal's Office, the Garfield Fire Department and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
North Ambulance responded as a precaution.
