Audubon meeting to address water quality Tuesday, Oct.
Those with an interest in water quality in Douglas County are invited to attend the Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter's next meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Alexandria Senior Community Center.
The topic of the meeting is "Our Lakes — Our Future" and will be presented by Gene Rose of the Douglas County Lake Association Water Quality Committee.
Douglas County is part of five watersheds: the Long Prairie River, the Chippewa River, the Sauk River, the Pomme de Terre River and the Red Eye River. The presentation will focus on the importance of water quality and the area's responsibility.
Bird sightings will also be discussed at the start of the meeting.
