A truck and a bicycle collided in Alexandria on Wednesday morning, sending the bicyclist to the hospital. 

A call came in about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, stating that a bike and vehicle had collided near the intersection of Third Avenue and Lake Street, in front of Zion Lutheran School. 

The female bicyclist was transported by North Ambulance to Douglas County Hospital. It is unclear if she was wearing a helmet. The bike appeared to have been struck in the front tire area. 

The Alexandria Police Department also responded to this crash.
