Dentists work to 'give kids a smile'
Children in need of dental care will now have the chance to get it for free. Minnesota dentists have created a statewide network of volunteer professionals who will provide free dental care services for up to 5,000 children on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6.
Dentists at more than 150 dental offices and clinics, including Dentistry at the Center in Alexandria, will provide free dental care during the Minnesota Dental Association's 14th annual Give Kids a Smile event. Nearly 2,500 volunteers will donate their time.
Patients should be 18 years or younger and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. To schedule an appointment, find a list of clinics at mndental.org/gkas or call United Way at 211.
Teeth cleanings, fillings, sealants and exams will be provided. Specific services provided at each location will be outlined when an appointment is scheduled.
