Smoke-free policies are preferred by 75 percent of potential renters in Minnesota. Having a smoke-free policy lowers cleaning and turnover costs and saves time and money.
Live Smoke Free, the Public Health Law Center and Horizon Public Health will offer training on the benefits of adopting smoke-free policies for apartment buildings and how to enforce the policy to keep it smoke-free.
It will be held Monday, Dec. 7 at 9:30 a.m. at Glenwood State Bank, 2221 S. Broadway St., Alexandria.
Presenters will provide free resources from planning to implementation to publicity. A light meal will be served.
Pre-registration is required by Friday, Dec. 4. To RSVP, contact Misty Hvezda at Horizon Public Health at (320) 762-2973 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
This training is sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Health's Tobacco-Free Communities and Statewide Health Improvement Program grants.
