More information has been released about a garage/shed fire near Carlos at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday night.

Clifford Barten reported that his garage was on fire at 6443 Botzet Road southeast of Carlos. Flames were coming from inside the large, unattached three-stall garage, which housed several vehicles. There was also concern about propane tanks that were close to the structure.

When Carlos firefighters arrived on scene, they found the garage fully engulfed. They requested mutual aid, including more water, from the Miltona and Osakis fire departments.

The garage contained two vehicles, a skid loader, a tractor and miscellaneous tools. The garage and its contents are considered a total loss, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and it's believed to be related to an electrical issue or a wood burning stove.
