ProBuild in Alexandria will be closed by the end of this year.

Its operations will be consolidated with the ProBuild store in Osakis, according to a company spokesperson in Denver, Colorado.

0 Talk about it

ProBuild is the nation’s largest supplier of building materials for home building, professional and contract builders. It has more than 435 locations nationwide.

The Alexandria site has seven full and part-time employees. Four will be relocated to the Osakis store.

ProBuild was leasing the building in Alexandria.

The consolidation will allow the company to more effectively market its products, according to the spokesperson.

The store at 203 Broadway has a long history of providing building and construction materials in the area. Through the years, it’s been affiliated with United Building Centers and Lampert Lumber.

As was the case with lumber supply companies in many small towns, it initially opened along the railroad tracks, offering a convenient way to transport building materials.
